Jim Vanderberg

A Wisconsin native,Jim Vanderberg made a name for himself as a racing driver. His parents immigrated to Canada when they were children. His grandparents were candy makers in Eastern Europe. They used their skills to get to Canada. After they settled in Canada,they started a business. The family purchased land with maple trees and began making maple sugar. This business eventually became a large industry in Eastern Canada.

Jim Vandenberg enjoyed life. He was a past president of the Williamsville Fire Department,served as a truck driver and pump operator,and married Mary Gladstone Vandenberg on July 22,2006. Jim and Mary enjoyed golf and travel together. They traveled often to South Dakota and Branson,MO. They loved hunting and spending as much time outdoors as possible. Jim was also a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). His grandchildren were his life,and he loved to watch them play games and watch movies.

The business was eventually sold,but Jim continues the family tradition of harvesting maple syrup each year to make maple candy. Jim quit his corporate job in the 2020s to become a full-time maple syrup candy producer. Jim Vanderberg currently lives in Toronto,Canada.
